Jen is an experienced property litigator, having practiced it exclusively since qualification in 2009. She is adept at dealing with issues across the full spectrum of contentious real estate matters, both commercial and residential. She has worked for heavyweight regional commercial law firms in the north-east throughout her career.
In recent years Jen has had a particular focus on commercial real estate disputes, including lease renewals, breaks, dilapidation claims, rent reviews, forfeiture issues, disputes concerning applications to assign and rent arrears recovery. She has also developed a niche specialism in the property aspects of telecommunications sites, acting exclusively for landowners (rather than operators) in advising on renewal and termination of telecoms leases and agreements, removal of apparatus, and strategic advice relating to development and obtaining vacant possession.
Jen is a member of the Property Litigation Association and Women In Property.
She is highly rated by her clients as a pragmatic commercial advisor. She has been noted for her expertise in Legal 500 since 2016, latterly as a Leading Associate for Property Litigation. She was also shortlisted as Real Estate Leading Associate of the Year in the Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards 2026.
Away from the office, Jen enjoys nothing more than putting her feet up with a good cuppa and a boxset! She loves being with her family and much of her spare time is focussed on home renovation.
